How satisfied are you with this response? Esqki Replied on February 20, In reply to JMH's post on November 24, I too will have the same problem when I am upgraded from hotmail to outlook. I used to have an old version of Firefox, but it updated automatically to a newer version, which my old Mac system can no longer use. Firefox no longer supports Safari 4. Hotmail is my primary mail account and has been since So what am I supposed to do? I cannot afford to buy a new system.

User Replied on February 21, In reply to Esqki's post on February 20, Thank you! Esqki Replied on March 15, In reply to A. User's post on February 21, I have just picked up your standard mail, which implies that you have not read or understood my response. Is this a machine generated mail? Surely there isn't a real unfeeling person at the other end of it?

I have stated that I cannot afford to buy a new system. In my household, there is only one machine because it is all we can afford. I do not have access to another machine. In my austerity laden country, machines from libraries are disappearing, and where I live there are no internet cafes that is if I could afford to use them. I cannot rely on friends to access their computer as they are all in the same boat as me.

So, the question I pose to you where am I supposed to get access to another computer? Why do you presume that everyone is rich and wealthy and can just snap their fingers and get hold of new systems just like that - especially when the biggest growth industry in my country is food-banks.

You should hold your head in shame with these presumptions. I know it is my default browser, but again other browsers do not support my old system. If you would have done the research you would have known that already, so what is the point of telling me to go to a part of the site that is of no real help to me? Is this just a case of ticking the boxes and saying that you have given advice and support when you have done no such thing?

Meanwhile, I cannot use my hotmail. I did not have time to move my mail and now I have outlook basic, which is not fit for man, woman or beast. All I want to do is to send mails, and receive mails, know the date when it was sent, and then forward if I want to.

Not much to ask. So, if you really want to help me, then tell me how to switch to a reasonable layout no cog option appears or tell me how to transfer all my mail to gmail, who seem to have a reasonable layout with my old system.

Please do not tell me to change my browser or system. I already did ask Silvan I put in my original post here what Kohai suggested, but it's not possible to use. To change the system I need to spend approx. Would need to upgrade my desktop computer, my laptop and also all my software.. The software I use is very expensive and I use several programs.

I know I will have to at some point later this year or next year, but can't do it yet. So just need a browser that will get me through til then. I think Mac people tends to use Safari, if you have compatibility problem this is a thing that must be fixed soon.

Babs I have exactly the same system as yourself, OS x 10 4 11, and find that I can play live about half the times I try, in the nuts tourney i just could not start a game with one of my opponents. I often lose the connection too. I have no idea why , but its obviously something to do with Safari. I've only been using Safari lately. I did already to empty the cache but it didn't help.. It just seems more than a coincidence I only started experiencing issues after chess.

Welcome to Low End Mac

Thankyou Jim I'll check it out in the morning. I'm running an old version now and that's been an issue, so not sure what will be right to download there. I haven't tried going into Live from my laptop yet.
